We are looking for a passionate and practiced People & Culture professional who wants to help combat food waste, and thrives on building meaningful and sustainable relationships with people. This People & Culture Generalist will help us deliver and implement People programs and services while keeping our people at the heart of everything we do. We can only create a better company together by living our shared values, and preserving our unique culture as we continue to grow. 

What You Will Do

  • Building on remote work best practices, ensuring our teams are set up for success 
  • Provide daily P&C general support which includes a full range of activities from administrative functions to providing advice and guidance
  • Work with Head of P&C to identify organizational training needs and develop and implement training courses that satisfy these needs
  • Build strong relationships and support our employees and managers at all levels of the company
  • Manage the recruitment process, and work closely with hiring managers as we grow our teams! This includes participation in the full cycle of the recruitment and onboarding process
  • Establishing and driving action plans based on insights from our employee surveys
  • Owning the Awards application process (Great Places to Work)
  • Support the organization’s performance management program (added plus if you have experience with Leapsome)
  • Support our payroll team by keeping track of employee changes
  • Maintain and optimize HRIS (data integrity, tracking, reporting)
  • Collaborate on People & Culture special projects and research initiatives
  • Help to build out our EDI program, and be a champion for our Advocates and Allies committee
  • Continue to build on our teammate wellness initiatives 

What you bring to the team:

  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to approach problems from a solution-oriented standpoint with tact and sensitivity
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, passion for customer service
  • Post-secondary education in HR or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years People & Culture Generalist experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent skills in G Suite
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nice to have: 

  • Experience working with an HRIS (Bamboo a plus!)
  • Solid project management skills and effective time management/prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and decision-making skills when faced with conflict situations or sensitive employee relations matters
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience in a specialized area of HR (compensation & benefits, learning and development, employee relations, or compliance)
