About the Role:  
The Engineering Program Manager in the EngOps org at Planet must be an excellent organizer and an excellent cross-functional leader with multiple teams, both inside Planet and with external partners. A successful candidate will help set strategy, drive problem solving efforts, eliminate roadblocks, execute on schedule, and be responsible for managing/communicating status and issues along the way. This involves the opportunity to collaborate closely with payload and spacecraft engineers to lead the end-to-end development of payload systems.
Impact You’ll Own:
- Influence, track and lead cross-functional development for Planet’s next generation payloads from ideation to launch
- Drive a multi-organizational engineering program to develop an advanced payload. Develop project schedules, resource plans, budgets, risk mitigation strategies and track performance through all phases of the program
- Drive root cause problem solving, identify, and eliminate blocking issues
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (AE, EE,CS) or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in program management, product management, or engineering management focused on the delivery of complex systems
- Experience with program lifecycle management including design, assembly, integration, test and flight operations of imaging hardware
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, to all levels of the organization
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic with a track record of creative and critical thinking
- Passion for establishing a new program for space technology
- Hands-on, can do attitude, interpersonal skills to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders effectively

Compensation:
The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is $144,500 - $180,600. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
