Sr. Project Manager

Proterra develops battery-electric buses that help eliminate fossil fuel dependency and reduce costs.

This position will provide support to Proterra’s engineering team. The Sr. Project Manager role will assist in leading and managing installation projects, contractors, equipment, and customers. This position will report to the Sr. Director, Energy Operations and collaborate with other team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and manufacturing facilities in Los Angeles, CA and Greenville, SC.
About the Role – You Will:
- Lead multiple EV charger installation projects concurrently, ranging in size from $100k to $20M, of varying complexity and scope.
- Develop and drive project plans with internal and external stakeholders (customers, suppliers, utilities, general contractors, electrical subcontractors, etc.)
- Support preparation of charging infrastructure estimates and proposals for customers and RFPs
- Support customers through the solution evaluation and selection process
- Evaluate and select subcontractors for project suitability, costs, and capability
- Support internal teams in the equipment ordering process
- Establish project schedules, budgets, and communication plans
- Communicate project progress, risks, and changes to internal and external project stakeholders
- Drive improvements to process to realize efficiencies across the team
- Other duties as assigned by management

Your Experience Includes
- Consistent record of successful project execution
- Familiarity with electrical and/or construction projects from $1M to $20M in size
- Interactions with transit agencies, schools, airports, and large commercial organizations
- Proficiency in project schedule creation
- Aptitude with project budget management
- Expertise with subcontractor negotiations and management
- 5 years or more of experience in electrical/construction project management
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field is preferred
- Project management certification is a plus
- Contractor’s license is a plus (GC or electrical)
- Sitetracker experience is a plus
