Sr. Business Development Manager

Stem brings and optimizes energy consumption to business through its distributed storage technology.

As a Senior Business Development Manager you will oversee the company’s position in a large multi-state region to ensure customer needs are met. You will also be responsible for creating new business by identifying profitable opportunities and working with your internal team to drive solutions for our customers.

- Sell Also Energy solutions to large solar developers and specifiers in a multi-state geography.
- Unearth new sales opportunities through networking and turn them into long term partnerships.
- Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives.
- Manage the entire sales cycles from finding a client to securing a deal.
- Create detailed business plans to facilitate the attainment of goals and quotas.
- Oversee and support account managers and sales associates to ensure client satisfaction.
- Communicate with clients at a senior level to resolve issues and inquiries.
- Generate innovative ideas to support customers and boost brand awareness.
- Use client feedback to improve customer experience.
- Report on sales results on a regular basis and suggest improvements.
- Identify and approach potential clients.
- Ensure brand consistency.
- Stay up to date with product launches and provide support to clients and the sales team.
- Organize meetings with the sales team to ensure all members are on board and deliver within deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned.

- BSc degree in Business Administration, Sales or relevant field.
- Proven work experience as an Outside Sales Representative.
- Experience in selling utility scale solar solutions including SCADA and Storage
- Knowledge of market research, sales, and negotiating principles.
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of CRM software (eg. Salesforce) is a plus.
- Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to build relationships with a customer service attitude.
- Organizational and time-management skills.

Work Environment:
- Office Setting, primarily in cubicles
- Travel by car, air, train regularly
- Moderate to high noise levels (i.e., business office with computers, phone, printers, moderate traffic)
- Ability to sit or stand (standing desk provide upon request) at a computer/workstation terminal for an extended period.

Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate (talk/sign/type/write) and operate a computer, telephone (or alternative), keyboard (or typing device), etc.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
- Ability to uphold the stress of traveling.

You will be eligible for monthly commission tied to paid invoices for accounts in assigned region. You will be eligible for the Quarterly New Sales Order Bonus. This bonus is dependent upon attaining New Sales Orders to meet or exceed the quarterly targets based on a set Quota. Payments will be made at lower-level attainment for all quota over 90% achieved. If your assigned sales team exceeds your Sales Quota, you are eligible for an incremental bonus.

Salary Range: 75,000 - 135,000/annually
Travel: 95%
