Data Science Intern

At WeaveGrid, we are working to accelerate the electrification of transportation and the decarbonization of the electric grid. At the core of our product offering are complex backend data systems that monitor or manage the charging of electric vehicles participating in utility programs that we facilitate. To enable this, we need to understand the behavior of drivers such as when they plug in their car and how they use their EV battery. We are looking for data scientists who can glean insights into driver behavior and potentially build simple predictive models which will help us grow our managed charging product.
 
Potential Responsibilities: 
- Leverage rich EV data to generate insights for internal use, utilities, end users and future product development
- Analyze the behavioral and charging patterns of EV drivers in WeaveGrid’s fleet of vehicles
- Build models to predict crucial user or vehicle parameters which will be used in our next gen EV charging management platform

Preferred Experience
- Rigorous foundational training in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Physical Sciences or related fields
- Coursework in data analysis, mathematics and statistics
- Experience using core data science tools like SQL and Python (and libraries like Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn), along with data visualization tools (Matplotlib, Plotly, Altair)
- Familiarity with Git and distributed version control 
- Demonstrated prior software engineering and/or data science work, from internships or projects

Qualifications
- Currently pursing a Bachelor's Degree
- Knowledge of Python, SQL
- Coursework in data analytics, mathematics and statistics

Location
This role will be based on-site at the WeaveGrid HQ in San Francisco, CA
The compensation for this opportunity includes a salary is $25/hour.
