We are a robotics startup based in Oakland, California, tackling the multi-billion dollar problem of construction and demolition waste. Every year, billions of dollars worth of construction materials are landfilled simply because the cost of labor to sort and reuse is too high. Almost 25% of all landfill is generated by the construction industry! Our mission is to salvage the past to make for a more sustainable future in our built environment. We are doing this by applying cutting-edge robotics to upcycle materials and return them to the market as valuable assets.

What You Will Be Doing

You will be working with the Urban Machine team to design a salvaged wood demonstration project. The goal is to build a project that demonstrates the value of using reclaimed lumber, the structural capabilities and the aesthetics properties. We would also like this project to benefit the community if possible. You will take part in evaluating salvaged material and identifying the next best use for the material.

What You Need For This Position
- Passion for developing sustainable buildings
- Must have expertise in 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD or OnShape
- Good communication and project management skills
- Self Starter- we are a team of 5 today
- Problem solving skills
- Networking- work with suppliers, contractors, and industry professionals What's In It For You
