Job

Terabases Staff Software Engineer GIS provides technical design, configuration, and custom software development. Area of focus is the GIS platform, and custom applications that are built on, or integrated with platforms including or similar to PlantPredict and Terabase Energys Development Platform.

Successful candidates work collaboratively with other team members to deliver development and custom software solutions targeted on the GIS and related platforms. Provides recommendations and continuous improvement for best practices for software development on the Salesforce.com platform.

Responsibilities

  • Perform both GIS application development and system administration functions
  • Develop and support new enterprise GIS solutions and enhancements to existing software applications
  • Perform complex GIS analyses with a variety of data formats including ArcSDE, Shape Files, Personal and File Geodatabase, Third Party data sources (Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, Access, etc.), images
  • Troubleshoot and develop software solutions based on multi-tiered architecture using Windows Azure PaaS platform, C#, ASP.NET, T-SQL, designing data structures, and using/configuring SQL Server databases
  • Provides expertise and support on use of methods and tools.
  • Designs, codes, tests, correct, and documents simple programs, and assist in the implementation of software which forms part of a properly engineered information or communications system.
  • Assists in the investigation and resolution of issues relating to applications. Assists with specified maintenance procedures.
  • Investigates problems in systems and services. Assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures.

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years required experience:
- Developing custom applications on a GIS platform
- Experience with .Net (C#, ASP, MVC, WebAPI, REST)
- Web development experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python
- Developing, deploying, and promoting code across separate environments: development, testing, and production
- Using source control for check ins, merging, versioning, and branching (TFS, Visual Studio Team Services, Github or similar).

1+ years required experience:
- ESRI JavaScript API, OpenLayers, or comparable web GIS libraries
- Web technologies, including a JavaScript library (Angular, React, or similar)
- Demonstrated understanding of fundamental technologies in a Microsoft/AWS environment: operating systems, networking, middleware, security, databases, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience automating AutoCAD/C3D preferred using Autodesk ARX.Net API
  • Experience with ThreeJS, WebGL, and 3D visualization programming
  • Experience building PaaS solutions (Azure, AWS)
  • Ability to work with Autodesk products and other related applications
  • Ability to work with ESRI products
