We work alongside project developers, owners, and engineering & construction firms to support the design, optimization, and construction of huge solar projects around the world. Our team is a blend of solar-industry veterans and newbies, thought-leaders, dreamers, software, electrical and mechanical engineers, coders, product managers, project managers, and sales and marketing professionals. The Role

Terabase is looking for a senior user experience designer with a focus in service design to help bring to life a breakthrough solution in solar powerplants. As a UX designer you will be responsible for the overall design and definition of an emerging suite of tightly linked hardware and software products. As a service designer your job duties include observing users at various touchpoints across the product lifecycle, identifying problem areas and proposing changes or improvements (behavior change) that increase the efficiency of the products usage.

Responsibilities
- Create innovative solutions for a wide variety of product and service design challenges, including hardware and software interfaces as well as person-to-person interactions
- Lead the design for new experiences and improvements of existing experiences.
- Develop high level, detailed storyboards, mock-ups, and prototypes to effectively communicate an intended product or service experience
- Work alongside engineers and product managers throughout all stages of the production cycle
- Advocate for design solutions, highlighting inputs that drove outcomes including business goals, user needs and research findings
- Present design work to multiple teams and senior leadership for review and feedback
- Develop and maintain detailed UI specifications
- Instill project teams with the confidence and discipline to explore innovative design solutions while respecting project deadlines
- Champion the practices of UX and service design within the organization by expanding the groups shared knowledge of user-centered design methodologies

Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience as a user experience designer with a focus on service design
- Proven designs and experience of launched products and services that have been implemented in the built environment (ie. not just websites and apps)
- Deep expertise in design thinking/human-centered design
- Experience with a variety of design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Hype, Invision, Axure, as well as flow/simulation software
- A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating innovative user-centered design solutions both products and services
- Ability to work within an engineering (hardware and software) culture
