Our platform utilizes proprietary metering technology and communication protocols to move data from edge devices to the cloud, where customers utilize our multi-tenant SaaS application to manage assets and to gain insight into the status and health of their grids.
SparkMeter is searching for a Senior AWS Cloud Architect to lead the design and maintenance of all AWS cloud infrastructure used to support our products. This role will work closely with all areas of engineering to architect, develop, deploy and support cloud based infrastructure, and to devise roadmaps for evolving our cloud footprint to support our product roadmaps. This role is a key member of our engineering team and will report directly to the VP of Engineering.
Requirements & Skills:
- 3+ years experience supporting a large scale AWS cloud implementation
- 3+ experience architecting cloud environments to support software products
- Experience deploying and managing the following AWS managed services:
- EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, ECS (Elastic Container Service), Elastic Search, MSK (Kafka), ElastiCache Redis, Route53, VPC, API Gateway, Lambda functions, SNS, CloudWatch
- Experience with any type of containerization and orchestration technology
- Experience with architecting to support application security and security hardening
- Experience with Python or any programming language
- A strong desire to learn and apply new technologies
- Exceptional problem solving skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- The desire and ability to collaborate with team members, business partners, and customers
Nice to have:
- Container orchestration using the following tools from HashiCorp (or similar): Nomad, Consul, and Vault
- Infrastructure as code using the following tools from HashiCorp (or similar): Terraform and Packer
- Linux system administration and shell scripting
- Experience working in the utility or energy industry
- Experience designing, building and supporting infrastructure to support an IOT platform and products
- Experience scaling a multi-tenant SaaS application
