Summary of Role

This role puts you on the front lines of advancing solar energy helping large organizations promote solar to their customers. As a Solutions Engineer, you will:
- Design enterprise software solutions to help our partners achieve their desired outcomes through world-class customer discovery and solution design
- Be the ambassador and expert for the Palmetto technology ecosystem, seeking a full understanding of Palmetto’s existing data models, codebase, and services to understand technical tradeoffs of implementing partner use cases.
- Be the go-to technical resource and expert for specific strategic partner initiatives, advocating and strategizing to create customized solutions for the client
- Iteratively solve partner needs by first introducing manual or MVP solutions, learning, and evolving to more scalable and savvy solutions.
- Promote innovation in Palmetto’s platform by embedding emerging customer needs into our evolving suite of external-facing APIs.

Strategic & Tactical

The Solutions Engineer will design, and drive the implementation of technical solutions, toward the following goals:
- Enable new partners to effectively use existing Palmetto platform features, including APIs, to drive sales & installation of solar on homeowner rooftops.
- Refine Palmetto’s partner engagement approach by developing standardized tools, technologies, and services to enable faster, turnkey integrations and partnerships.
- Ensure partner satisfaction with the response and performance of both our platform and our technical team.

Qualifications
- Experience working in a consulting or professional services environment.
- Experience working in a software product development environment.
- Professional software engineering experience.
- Comfort and enjoyment using written and verbal communication skills to communicate technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Depth of technical knowledge sufficient to negotiate and persuade highly technical stakeholders (up to CTO level) to your viewpoint.
- Proven ability to learn new programming languages and technical concepts.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Literacy with modern JavaScript.
- Professional experience with Node.js.
- Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux).
- Experience querying SQL & NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
