Who are we?

SRTX (srtxlabs.com) builds new materials and software to enable better textiles. SRTX is best known for its first technology, Sheertex, a knit made from one of the world's strongest polymers which has disrupted hosiery through impossibly strong pantyhose. Named one of TIME’s Best Inventions, our customers get more wears from our tights than average - meaning fewer tights end up in landfills.

Our mission towards achieving sustainability stretches beyond the environment: we are committed to paying our employees an equitable wage and offering an environment that promotes creativity and growth. Our factory and office share our headquarters, allowing constant collaboration and innovation that can be implemented immediately. We encourage our employees to learn quickly, have autonomy, and leave a direct and lasting impact on the company as we strive to become the leading brand in hosiery.

We’re looking for a skilled Sr Mechanical Engineer that is passionate about mechanical systems, has industry experience and lots of technical knowledge. You will create and implement all aspects related to mechanical design, including developing, prototyping and validation, as well as continued maintenance and evolution of the extrusion lines.

What can you expect from this role?

You will get trained on operating and troubleshooting our extruders. You will investigate the project needs and conceptualize, design and improve the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems, determine causes of failures, and recommend design improvements. You’ll have defined the maintenance requirement and created, updated maintenance procedures, work instruction and processes to be put in place.

Responsibilities:
- Ensuring safe working practices and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Ensure that system safety aspects are respected in the design and implementation process using ISO/ansi standards.
- Improve the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems, determine causes of failures, and recommend design improvements.
