Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

About us

Pearl Street Technologies, Inc. is an early-stage startup developing next-generation software for the electric utility industry. Based in Pittsburgh, PA and backed by Powerhouse Ventures, Incite Labs, the National Science Foundation, ARPA-E, and the Department of Energy, we’re building tools to prepare the electric power grid for a renewable future. If you are interested in solving the most pressing challenges of the world’s most critical infrastructure, we’d love to hear from you!

What you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced full-stack software engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of complex projects while collaborating with existing members of the team. We’re building a new app to help make it faster, easier, and cheaper for renewable energy projects to be deployed on the grid, and you will play a leading role in implementing core user-facing functionality, including:
- Visualizing and manipulating grid data and project data
- Creating intuitive views for highly-technical simulation and optimization analyses
- Building services to integrate user-friendly interfaces with a powerful and flexible computational backend

Your work will help project developers deploy more (and better) zero-carbon generation projects on the grid!

What we value

  • 6+ years professional experience in software engineering
  • Proficiency with modern frontend and backend web frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Node, Flask, Django, etc.)
  • Experience interacting with RESTful API web services
  • Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control system
  • A passion for learning, teaching, and building beautiful software
  • Experience using Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS is a plus
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills and/or STEM degree preferred

Benefits

  • Compelling compensation package with salary and equity
  • Medical/dental/vision insurance with full premium covered (50% for dependents)
  • 11 paid federal holidays + 4 weeks PTO
  • Professional development reimbursement program
  • 401(k) plan
