We are looking for an experienced software engineer who is comfortable extending a modern C++ codebase to enable new features and interfaces in our electric grid simulation and optimization platform. You will be responsible for implementing new models, algorithms, and API functionality to help our users more efficiently and more accurately assess the impact of new renewable energy project interconnections. You will work with existing members of the Pearl Street team and partners to test, validate, and deploy our solutions for grid planning and interconnection studies.
What we value
- 6+ years of experience as a professional software engineer
- Proficiency in C++; knowledge of Python is a plus
- Experience in developing and shipping high-performance software products
- Familiarity with Git or other version control system
- Knowledge of power systems is a plus
- Knowledge of numerical methods for simulation and/or optimization is a plus
- Knowledge of electronic design automation tools and methods is a plus
- MS/PhD in EE/CE/ECE/CS is preferred
