Summary of Role
Palmetto is experiencing an exciting period of growth as a result of increased efficiency and productivity within the company. To support this growth, the People & Culture team is seeking to add new teammates to better support company goals and our expanding employee population. As a Compensation Manager on our team, you will play a key role in enhancing and improving the company’s compensation structure and philosophy. Using data, market research, and your business acumen, you will ensure Palmetto is implementing fair pay practices that will not only allow us to recruit and retain employees but help the business scale.

Strategic & Tactical
- Develop, implement, and maintain compensation programs for the whole organization. Monitoring the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommending more efficient, cost-effective solutions when appropriate
- Oversees the participation in salary surveys
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal compensation laws and regulations across all states in the US
- Partner with other members of the People & Culture team and business leaders to develop promotion and retention strategies and consistent recruitment practices
- Lead annual planning design that includes equity, base salaries, bonus plans, and commission plans to create plans designed to improve business outcomes
- Lead annual compensation survey management process, from ensuring data integrity of submission through analysis and application of survey results.
- Perform cost modeling of merit budget and salary structure design and maintenance to ensure the business remains market competitive.
- Provide expertise and consultation to P&C Business Partners, Talent Management, and business leaders on job leveling, evaluation, market pricing, internal equity, and competitive pay analysis.
- Monitors pay program effectiveness and recommend continuous improvement changes.
- Proactively support annual rewards process, including planning, testing, auditing, analyzing pay for performance recommendations, preparing summaries and reporting as needed.
- Recommend and develop analysis tools and templates to drive efficiency and effectiveness in reward program design and implementation.
- Work with P&C leaders to ensure accurate implementation of reward design and policy/process changes.
- Work with reward and P&C business partners and third-party vendors to ensure external data and information requirements are effectively delivered.
- Undertake regular benchmarking and external market research to ensure external alignment (to prevalent and emerging practice) / market competitiveness and internal equity.
- Work with P&C leaders to create metrics and analytics to drive stronger performance across P&C organization (dashboards).

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or similar. An HR certification such as SHRM, PHR, or similar preferred
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience developing, implementing, and maintaining compensation programs, ideally within small to mid-sized companies. Experience with pre-IPO companies is required
- Experience ability to keep up with pay trends in multiple industries and functions such as technology, renewable energy, sales, and construction
- Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to compensation and incentive programs, company policies, and local and federal laws
- Strong organization and the ability to thrive in an ever-changing, ambiguous environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data to diverse audiences
- Technical aptitude and ability to efficiently use or quickly learn G-suite products. Strong experience with excel
- Excellent time management skills to deliver upon goals in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment by being agile and innovative
