What we are looking for:
Stem Inc. is currently seeking an experienced SDET Manager to join our growing team to serve as a contributor and a Lead/Manager.

You will be a part of a product development team which provides an end-to-end solutions to our users from data collection in the field to generating real-time notifications to dispatches and interactive visualizations providing access to diagnostic and metering data.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)/ Manager you will build and design test automation for Stem’s applications. You will work with multi-functional teams across Stem’s Technology to launch premier technical solutions for Stem’s application testing. You will collaborate directly with Developers, SDETs, Product Managers, and Program Managers to ensure quality development and quality of our applications and platforms. You will be responsible for driving the software development process toward quality-centric methodologies. You will be a key member of a team building an innovative new product that will impact our member’s lives!
This position will have managerial duties with up to 7 direct reports.

Responsibilities:
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
- Lead the Software development in test initiatives using modern tools and technologies
- Improve QA efficiency by implementing in-sprint automation and continuously improve tests and process with a drive towards innovation and automation
- Accountable for overall design, creation, and maintenance of automation framework
- Manage and develop the team through involvement, delegation, and regular reviews of performance
- Actively mentor, lead, and support team members
- Willing to be hands-on in developing tools for improving test efficiency
- Collaborate with various departments and implement process improvements
- Help troubleshoot build environment and tools usage issues
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years Lead/Manager+ experience leading SDET teams plus a minimum of 10 years professional experience in the single and multi-tenant application development
- Ability to lead all aspects of thorough architectural, design and code reviews
- Experience with Microsoft development tools, Visual Studio, SQL management studio
- Working knowledge of Python or Java programming skills
- Working knowledge of test frameworks like pytest, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes
- Knowledge of end-to-end DevSecOps automation with CI and CD pipelines designing, implementing, or using quality gates
- Experience with CI/CD technologies, such as Jenkins, Github, Sonar etc.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs, with a deep understanding of REST, SOAP, HTTP etc.
- Ability to have effective two-way communication with senior leadership and dev teams
- Experience in leading an agile development teams
- Ability to think and act strategically and proactively
- Hands on experience recruiting top talent

Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud deployments for high availability systems
- Technology mentoring to meet the overall objectives of the organization- includes coaching junior engineers and providing technical design and architecture guidance for initiatives
- Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required
- Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Provide consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance for greater efficiencies
