Sales Engineer

AMPLY is a fast-growing Global CleanTech 100 company, honored for Innovation in Electric Vehicle Fleet Charging and Management. AMPLY is hiring a talented, intelligent, and charismatic Sales Engineer to drive the technical and engineering aspects of sales and business development opportunities with the sales and operations teams. Thereby supporting AMPLY’s EV charging and energy solutions to public entities and commercial businesses who are electrifying their fleets of vehicles.

The Sales Engineer will be leading & mentoring a team of Sales Engineers to understand and communicate business requirements and solutions to customers & prospects. You will be developing strong customer relationships, creating technical and engineering offerings for customers in the public and private transportation sectors (transit bus, school bus, truck, van, and electric car fleets), and ensuring a great customer experience from pre-sales to post-sales. 
 
This is a full-time remote role based in the North East.

Responsibilities

  • Engage Prospects in technical sales and engineering aspects of AMPLY’s solutions
  • Provide technical training on AMPLY solutions to channel and strategic partners
  • Site Walks and initial project scoping as needed (COVID conditions allowing)
  • In-depth Electrical and EVSE system knowledge
  • Interact with design and build partners for project development and deployment
  • Develop internal tools and processes to scale Sales Engineering, Analysis, and Sales workflows
  • Offer guidance on technical aspects of AMPLY’s fleet charging solutions as part of the sales process.
  • Primary sales focal-point for working with product development, by gathering feedback and project specifications to advise the engineering team
  • Develop relationships with utilities – especially EV Fleet program teams
  • Build post-sale customer relationships to ensure project and long-term relationship success
  • Work with AMPLY Project Operations team for successful project deployment
  • Lead the efforts to ensure customer goals are transferred from pre-sales to post-sales teams
  • Manage prospects, improve customer relationships
  • Technical involvement and timely responses to RFI, RFP, and RFQ’s
  • Provide effective communication and status updates to all internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Sales Engineering and/or Project Development
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience serving solar, energy storage, and/or EV charging commercial customers
  • Results-oriented with demonstrated ability to support the sales team and close successfully
  • Must have a solid understanding of utility, electrical power systems, and commercial interconnection conditions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated and passionate about technical sales, and working with customers
  • Ability to work on multiple opportunities simultaneously
  • Strong track record of developing strategic and channel partnerships
  • Willingness to travel as needed (COVID conditions allowing)

AMPLY is redefining the EV charging market for private and public fleets, including autonomous driving fleets, transit bus agencies, municipal, and private fleets. We are building the next level of charging as a service, taking complete ownership and control of the charging infrastructure, the scheduling of the vehicles, the cloud platform, and the utility meter – in order to provide the highest availability and resilience in the market. In this way, we will accelerate the adoption of electric-powered fleets by optimizing the delivery of power and making refueling seamless and efficient. In a high-powered application like vehicle fast charging, the difference between controlled, optimally balanced vs unrestrained EV charging could be 3x in cost from your local utility. Even more importantly, EV fleets, in particular when part of critical and close to real-time business processes (for example in autonomous fleets) need to be scheduled for charging in specific time intervals. By taking control of the utility meter, optimizing EV charge rate and vehicle process flow, AMPLY provides the lowest cost of electric fueling possible in a given depot location or in-route stops. Our approach is to offer charging as a service, which is unique in the industry. We offer our customers a per mile driven usage rate. AMPLY provides the bulk of the upfront capital expenditures associated with the charging platform.
