About the Role:
The Customer Success team at Planet is seeking an innovative learning professional with experience and expertise in building learning, development, and educational materials for our diverse global team. This person will be a primary driver of the vision for our internal educational efforts and will own eLearning asset development from inception to completion. They must be skilled in using and operating learning management systems; instructional design, curriculum development and project management of educational content for web-based training. To succeed, they must work collaboratively with Multimedia Design, Education team members, People team members, Product, Product Marketing, Customer Success, and related teams. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, proactive, design-minded and is focused on enablement and learner growth. They have a passion for internal learning and development, collaboration and an understanding of adult learning principles and theories.

This individual will join the growing Education team at Planet, which owns the creation, evolution, and maintenance of learning materials for external customers and Planet team members (Planeteers). We create customer enablement resources and programs that are hosted in Planet University, our external learning management system and Planet Community, our partner and customer community platform. We have recently launched our internal learning management system Planeteer Academy to provide new hire orientation and team onboarding resources for all Planeteers. The primary asset types, localized in multiple languages, are self-serve learning paths, short and long-format videos, tipsheets, articles, technical guides, and live webinars.

Impact You’ll Own:
- Drive the vision and design of Planet Education solutions via eLearning materials
- Serve as the main curriculum developer for new internal educational materials
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product, brand, and legal compliance
- Maintain our Planeteer Academy Learning Management System (LMS) as a system administrator and chief content developer
- Lead and manage the creation and updates to existing internal enablement materials for ongoing product releases
- Work closely with other teams to develop department overview resources, enablement content and standardized resources to best represent their teams
- Manage our asset library by auditing, updating, retiring content, and updating the channel of distribution owners
- Create engaging and applicable learning materials to scale globally in multiple formats for a diverse global user audience

What You Bring:
- 3+ years of instructional/learning design experience
- 3+ years of copywriting experience
- 3+ years of project management experience
- Extensive Learning Management System (LMS) experience
- Presentation design (Keynote/PowerPoint)
- Curriculum development/course authoring (Rise 360 or similar)
- Familiarity with adult learning theories and principles
- Familiarity with GIS and remote sensing systems

What Makes You Stand Out:
- Experience in multimedia production (A/V work, deck templates, infographics, animations, etc.)
- Experience teaching and developing educational resources/curricula in academia or customer education
- Experience developing learning and development materials for previous organizations

Compensation:
The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is $100,100 - $164,600.
Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (commission, bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
