Position Scope
As a Jr. Project Engineer, you will support the effective execution of the Management of Change (MoC) programme for the Carbon Engineering Innovation Centre (CEIC) to ensure modifications to process plant equipment follow the required steps of design, procurement, safety reviews, installation, and commissioning. You will collaborate with the MoC Supervisor, plant engineers, and tradespeople to administer the above. Implementing improvements to the programme workflow, templates, and training of staff on these improvements will also be included in the scope of this position as time permits. This role may also be involved in supporting the development of capital projects in the CEIC and developing technical engineering deliverables to expedite specific projects.
Experience
- 1-2 years of engineering experience
- Project management support experience including project controls, scheduling, cost estimating, baseline schedule and budget tracking, reporting and procurement services.
- Willing to attend meeting facilitation and communication training to develop skills in this area will be key.
- Experience in industrial, oil & gas, and/or chemical plant setting desired but not necessary.
- Comfortable in industrial/chemical plant environment.
Key Competencies
- Experience with MS Excel.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills such as, summarizing, paraphrasing, and asking probing questions.
- Able to develop relationships and facilitate open communication.
- Familiar with process and mechanical engineering documents (P&IDs, cause & effect matrix, piping isometrics, basic process control philosophies).
- Familiar with installation and fabrication details (BOM, cut-sheet), preferred but not necessary.
