Interconnection Specialist

Summary of the Role

The Interconnection Specialist role plays a critical part in the solar customer fulfillment pipeline, managing the processing of interconnection applications, as well as facilitating a relationship of constant improvement with Palmetto’s counterparts at our partner Utilities. You will focus on day-to-day operational excellence, as well as facilitating process improvements within the fulfillment group. Strategic/Tactical Responsibilities
- Specialize in utility processes, documents, and communication preferences
- Continually evaluate and improve internal processes and initiate steps to meet current and future company service expansions and customer satisfaction
- Coordinate and collaborate with customer-facing teams to facilitate communication
- Ensure all queues are meeting the defined SLAs (Service Level Agreements)
- Ensure customer service levels are met or exceed Palmetto standards
- Prepare and submit documents for interconnection to assigned utilities
- Address issues that arise which affect a customer’s interconnection and customer satisfaction
- Present supporting analytics and solutions to Programmatic Leadership and other departments to drive the clearing of recurring interconnection blockers.
- Support in researching requirements for interconnection with utilities when entering new state markets and changes in utility processes.
- Track the progress of application stages from submission to permission to operate (PTO); following up with utilities to address problems and move projects forward
- Call or email customers for documents or updates on applications; develop and maintain automated and tailored communication to decrease internal effort and set customer expectations

Required Background and Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customer support or business processing related position
- BS/BA Preferred
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced rapidly changing environment
- Customer service mindset
- Problem solver
- Attention to detail
- Strong computer skills (G Suite)
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of the construction or solar industry preferred
- Spanish speaker is a plus
