Hydrogen Commercial Deal Lead

ZeroAvia is a leader in zero-emission aviation, flying the world’s largest hydrogen-electric aircraft since September 2020. Our focus is the design and commercialization of hydrogen-powered aviation solutions to address a variety of markets, initially targeting short-haul, sub-regional commercial flights up to 500 miles. To date, ZeroAvia has secured the UK CAA and FAA experimental permit to fly for its 6 seat aircraft powered by hydrogen-electric powertrain, passed significant flight tests and is on track for commercial deliveries by 2023. Its achievements to date were rewarded by the UK prime minister by inviting ZeroAvia as a member of the UK Jet Zero Council.

This senior role, reporting to VP Infrastructure and responsible for deal origination and execution with key partners across the infrastructure value chain, including airports, developers, renewables developers, and government

Skills

  • Mastery of deal structuring, including risk management, business model creation, negotiations, and stakeholder influencing
  • Expertise in building effective coalitia, demonstrated track record in identifying qualitative and quantitative value drivers and finding the zone of agreements
  • Mastery in working with ambiguity, exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
  • Expertise in bringing clarity, simplifying decision making and communicating effectively
  • managing multiple projects across several geographies and cross-functional project management experience with expertise in at least 2 of across finance, strategy, technology, commercial development.
  • Highly numerate, logical, and creative types welcome
  • Architect, Gardner, or Librarian archetypes welcome

Background

  • Serious experience in commercial, deal-making, and corporate development with a background in science, engineering, economics degrees preferred; further qualifications a bonus
  • Finance, economics, energy, capital projects, mobility, infrastructure, PE, consulting backgrounds all solid
  • Quantifiable experience of delivery under pressure in a range of roles spanning at least 2 of technology, commercial, finance, strategy, and corporate development
  • Top tier companies/start-ups track record particularly in energy, transportation, telco, retail, infrastructure, or aviation sectors particularly welcome.
  • H2 and/or aviation experience is not necessary but a bonus
  • Large scale partner and consortium development experience are solid.
