Hydrogen Commercial Advisor/Economist

ZeroAvia is a leader in zero-emission aviation, flying the world’s largest hydrogen-electric aircraft since September 2020. Our focus is the design and commercialization of hydrogen-powered aviation solutions to address a variety of markets, initially targeting short-haul, sub-regional commercial flights up to 500 miles. To date, ZeroAvia has secured the UK CAA and FAA experimental permit to fly for its 6 seat aircraft powered by hydrogen-electric powertrain, passed significant flight tests, and is on track for commercial deliveries by 2023. Its achievements to date were rewarded by the UK prime minister by inviting ZeroAvia as a member to the UK Jet Zero Council.

This leadership role, reporting to Commercial Deal Lead and responsible for deal, project and business model support across the hydrogen and infrastructure value chains, including airports, developers, renewables developers.

Skills

  • Mastery in financial and/or economic modelling, comfortable with NPV/DCF, scenario development and options/Monte-Carlo
  • Mastery in taking ambiguous or incomplete data and creating complete business models, including optimising for different financing components such as govt funds, debt and equity funding
  • Strong project management, communication and leadership skills–skillful in communicating complex information visually and verbally.
  • Ability to build out product strategy roadmaps and support make decisions grounded in strong technoeconomics

Background

  • Experience with background in science, engineering, economics degrees preferred; further qualifications a bonus
  • Innovation, growth hacking experience within Energy, Hard Tech Product development, all strong
  • Capital project, turn-arounds, scheduling, trading, development planning experience in O&G a bonus
  • Quantifiable Experience of delivery under pressure, range of roles spanning operations management, commercial and corporate development roles is necessary
  • Top tier companies/start ups track record
  • H2 and/or aviation experience not necessary but bonus
  • Highly numerate, logical and creative types welcome
  • Knowledge of process and engineering safety a plus
