What we are looking for:

The HR Director, Stem will be critical to Stem’s continued success as we scale for growth. This role will develop, lead and implement the HR agenda and support members of the Stem senior leadership team as their strategic HR business partner. The ideal candidate will be a focused professional with strong experience and a proven track record of delivering results. This position requires strong HR generalist skills and the working knowledge and direct experience with all HR functional areas. This is an exciting time at Stem with the successful IPO in 2021, acquisition of AlsoEnergy in 2022 and the ongoing company growth/expansion. Stem is seeking a self-starter, motivated to build and lead a small team as part of the overall HR team.

Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements the strategic HR agenda and how that supports the wider business strategy.
- Provides advice and counsel to the senior leadership team on organizational and people issues.
- Provide data backed, insights and recommendations to influence decision-making that enhances the employee experience.
- Continually seeks to harmonize and improve the organization's policies, procedures and practices for the effective management of people resources of the company by making recommendations to executive management.
- Fosters an employee-oriented culture in support of the leadership team that emphasizes partnership, quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
- Partners with hiring managers to determine staffing needs and address capability/developmental gaps.
- Manages and develops the inclusion, culture and diversity roadmap with a focus on achieving measurable, sustainable results.
- Leads the HR team and plans for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the team as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth opportunities.
- Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.

Required skills:
Bachelor’s Degree and 7-10 years of senior HR leadership expertise, with 5-10 years of HR generalist experience, gained through roles of increasingly responsible management experience within HR.

- Highly resourceful and strategic thinker with strong emotional intelligence, operational rigor, and project management capabilities.
- Strong leadership and communication skills across functions and leadership teams. Comfortable in business and technical discussions.

- Ability to design and execute a winning HR strategy and provide broad and comprehensive business partner support.

- Strong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to assess processes and outcomes by establishing solid metrics of performance.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with executives to initiate HR strategies that result in increased organizational effectiveness.

Location
San Francisco Bay Area.
This could be an office based or Flex (hybrid office/remote) role.
