THE PITCH

At Tomorrow Farms, we’re reinventing your childhood favorite foods by building irresistible food and beverage brands that are better for people, kinder to animals, and easier on the planet. This role will be focused on Bored Cow, our first brand to launch within the Tomorrow Farms portfolio. Bored Cow is the world’s first animal-free dairy milk. We partnered with our friends at Perfect Day, who figured out how to make real milk protein using microflora instead of cows. It’s a new method of making dairy that doesn’t require a single animal. That’s good news for cows, but it’s better news for us, and the planet. We’re a whimsical and purpose-driven brand that takes our mission, but not ourselves, seriously!

THE ROLE

We are looking for a creative, strategic, and analytical Head of Commercial to drive revenue for the company across channels and ensure retail sell-through to take Bored Cow to the next level. The Head of Commercial will be responsible for developing and executing key growth strategies and tactics required to achieve distribution and velocity objectives across channels. Responsibilities include development of forecasts, budgets, sales plans, and marketing campaigns for brick & mortar retail. The ideal candidate has a track record of success building emerging brands, is adept at creating internal systems and processes, and thrives in a highly collaborative and fast moving team environment.

You will lead our commercial and sales endeavors to meet our high-growth and high-impact goals, working with our operations and creative teams to meet both revenue and marketing efficiency goals. This role will report directly to the CEO. This is an in-person/hybrid position based in NYC.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Develop a multi-year, multi-channel retail sales strategy. Develop and execute annual sales plans, forecasts, and budgets in line with company growth objectives.
- Grow brand distribution and velocities in retailers across the country and oversee management of 3rd party wholesale marketplaces. Additionally, develop tactics to drive sales with small brick & mortar stockists. Prospect and manage select alternate channel key accounts such as boutique stockists, bodegas, gifting companies, department stores, etc.
- Work closely with Operations on forecasts, promotion planning, inventory, customer/distributor onboarding, customer experience, and product launches.
- Expand relationships with key accounts; develop promotional programs, present new items, conduct tastings and trainings, and coordinate marketing initiatives to drive distribution and velocity growth.
- Manage trade spend budget and promotional calendar for all accounts. Evaluate merchandising, pricing, promotional programs, competitor activity, etc. to adjust tactics and drive improved performance in retail on an ongoing basis.
- Analyze sales data to understand and report on performance across channels and key accounts.
- Set and track benchmark KPIs across channels while driving meaningful and actionable insights to improve marketing efficiencies.
- Strategize new product development, pricing, and go-to-market plans.
- Spearhead trade marketing vision. Collaborate closely with our internal marketing team and external partners to execute trade marketing initiatives including collateral development, events/demos, trade-focused PR, and retailer-specific marketing campaigns.
- Own development of omni-channel marketing campaigns (new retailer launches, new products), coordinating cross-functionally to ensure smooth execution. In the future, build out a field marketing program.
- Ask and answer the big picture brand strategy questions ensuring that we continue to deeply understand our customers and that we share a compelling and cohesive story as we expand across new channels and new products.

WHO YOU ARE
- 8-10+ years experience in sales and marketing for CPG brands. Food and beverage experience is a plus.
- Have an egoless, team-first mentality. Be a relentless champion for the portfolio of Tomorrow Farms brand and products.
- Strong communicator with a high attention to detail and a willingness to “get into the weeds” to solve the toughest problems.
- Best in class analytical and data-driven skill set with experience setting and executing on a KPI focused strategy (with a strong bias towards revenue generation!).
- Track record of owning a P&L, understanding P&L drivers, and collaborating with finance teams to accurately forecast performance
- Proven success building and managing a team of motivated and high-performing individuals.
- Clear growth mindset with a love of scrappy testing as well as an ability to learn from mistakes.
- You have strong project management skills and are highly comfortable with managing multiple cross-functional initiatives moving in parallel.
- Prior experience building foundational systems and processes to support aggressive business and brand growth.
- BIPOC, womxn, and LGBTQ+ individuals are highly encouraged to apply
