Geology Intern

Job Overview:

The internship will be 10 weeks long during the summer of 2023 for May 30th – August 4th.

The Geology Intern will complete a mapping project to delineate possible carbon storage sites using well log, literature, and core data. In this internship, you will create a plan to purchase or collect more data, identify areas of interest, and create a path forward.

At the end of this internship, you will present your work on delineating the possible sink reservoirs to the south along the Front Range. As a Geology Intern, you will identify favorable geology that meets CARB and EPA requirements and suggest a path forward for a project.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Required
- Masters or PhD candidate
- Majoring in Geoscience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of depositional systems and geologic processes
- Knowledge of log analysis and experience in Petra is a plus

Essential Responsibilities:
- Literature review to become familiar with area geology.
- Review available logs and core data in the area. Work with Geotech to build a mapping project.
- Map reservoirs and confining layer including structure maps, isopachs, net sands/reservoir, salinity, and porosity distributions.
- Identify areas of interest with multiple zones of interest.
- Present findings to the team as a possible project to move forward.
- Further tasks available if there is time.

General Requirements and Job Details:
- Must be able to work from a computer for eight hours per day
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- This position is based out of our Lakewood, Colorado offices.
- This is a Monday through Friday, Full-Time, Nonexempt position
