Job Brief

As a facilities project manager you will help oversee and improve the infrastructure for Twelve’s manufacturing, production, and R&D facilities. As we expand and commercialize our carbon transformation technology you will manage the development of manufacturing and production facilities from site selection through commissioning. As a first point of contact for issues with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, you will lead planning and coordination of facility improvements as well as coordinate preventative maintenance, reactive diagnosis, and repairs. You will manage contractors and coordinate their work to minimize impacts on operations. An ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of facility infrastructure and the ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment.

What you will do 
- Manage and improve the building infrastructure for Twelve’s existing R&D facilities
- Work with R&D staff to refine utility and infrastructure requirements for new equipment and processes
- Manage MEP subcontractors to improve and maintain infrastructure while minimizing impacts on research and development teams
- Coordinate planned maintenance, investigate unplanned events and direct appropriate repairs and preventative improvements
- Lead the selection, design, construction, and commissioning of new manufacturing, production, and research facilities
- Lead technical evaluation of potential facilities and the selection and onboarding of design/build contractors
- Work with capital projects team to plan equipment and utilities for new manufacturing and production areas
- Provide contractor feedback, direction and supervision as needed during construction and manage communication between contractors and relevant company stakeholders
- Work with the internal operations team to manage and obtain necessary permits and approvals for occupancy
- Technical and Documentation Management
- Manage project documents and maintain building as-builts
- Manage preventative maintenance contracts
- Develop floor plans, test fits, as-builts through CAD and Bluebeam
- Develop schedules using Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software
- Manage engineering documentation such as PFDs, P&IDs, architectural layouts and MEP as-built drawings
Who you are
- You have a Bachelor's degree in construction management or another technical field
- You have 5+ years of experience as a project manager or a similar role
- You have knowledge of the construction process and principles, and familiarity with relevant regulations and building codes
- You have demonstrated understanding of building systems, including and not limited to:
- Commercial and industrial electrical distribution systems
- Fume hoods and other exhaust systems
- Process piping for chemical and gas systems
- Central support utilities such as chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and fire suppression
- You have excellent project management, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- You communicate clearly and proactively, and are adept at working with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (including international travel)
