ZeroAvia is a leader in zero-emission aviation, flying the world's largest hydrogen-electric aircraft since September 2020. Its focus is the design and commercialization of hydrogen-powered aviation solutions to address a variety of markets, initially targeting short-haul, sub-regional commercial flights up to 500 miles. To date, ZeroAvia has secured the UK CAA and FAA experimental permit to fly for its 6-seat aircraft powered by hydrogen-electric powertrain passed significant flight tests and is on track for commercial deliveries by 2024. Its achievements to date were rewarded by the UK prime minister by inviting ZeroAvia as a member of the UK Jet Zero Council.

ZeroAvia’s powertrain development focuses on integrating hydrogen storage tanks, fuel cell systems, and electric motors, delivering a solution that will be not only without carbon emissions but also cheaper to operate. Commercializing the solution requires the establishment of a new clean aviation ecosystem, encompassing hydrogen production from renewable energy sources and tackling public perception of safety.

At ZeroAvia we are taking on the challenge of decarbonising the aviation industry, and are leading the way with our revolutionary hydrogen-electric powertrains. With a global team of top talent, we have already flown the largest hydrogen-powered test aircraft in the world, while securing millions of dollars of investment from partners like British Airways, Amazon, Breakthrough Energy, Barclays, Shell and many others. In 2024 we aim to have our products flying with customers around the world.** **are looking for two Infrastructure Engineering Interns who will work closely with our product delivery, project management and our aircraft hydrogen teams.

This internship needs strong creative engineering skills, project engineering and organisation to work in a thriving and growing set of complex programmes in liquid hydrogen, gaseous hydrogen and conversion technologies. Project sizes may be small today but are complex and we expect them to grow in the next 12-24 months to multi-stakeholder projects that will eventually scale to multiple million-dollar investments. The roles will be based out of The Cotswolds Airport.
- Single Line diagrams: The technologist will be responsible for drawing up single line diagrams based on P&ID and component data. The intern will have to understand the interconnectivity between control systems and components, and between various control systems, to approximate power requirements and size the appropriate power supply and storage systems.
- Wiring diagrams and CAD: **The electrical technologist will produce detailed wiring diagrams and CAD using a software package (Solidworks Electrical preferred)
- **Design and build
: The Electrical Technologist will be responsible for providing various engineering teams with the required input on the design and execution of various electrical work packages across the different products and projects. The intern will then handle the wiring, and tracing for HV and LV systems.
- Documentation: As part of the above activities, the intern will participate in the writing of process and safety documentation as well as verification matrices, specification sheets and logic flow diagrams.

Background/Skills required
- HND in electrical, electronics, wiring etc or working towards a B.Eng in Electrical Engineering or similar preferred
- Experience in controls systems including experience of delivery under pressure, including technical, project or academic excellence
- A safety mindset, brings energy and fresh ideas to our safety processes
- Prior work or technical experience in any role spanning gas technologies, operations (e.g. refining) and engineering is desirable
- The ability to program in logic onto Siemens S7 PLCs would be preferred
- Interest or experience in working within a scale-up organisation
- Cryogenics and design interest/ experience are a definite bonus; the ability to come up the curve on H2 codes and standards is a necessity
- Ability to communicate effectively

Training and support will be given so you will be able to:
- Operate safely within the workplace including HSSE training, PPE on-site and appropriate tool selection
- Engage with the local market, engineering specialists in materials, pressure equipment etc. and integrate as needed into projects
- Resolve design issues with the opportunity for detailed design and build
- Develop to self-start and be part of high-paced technical programme developments
- Participate in Front End Engineering Design studies
