Electrical Engineer

We are searching for an Electrical Engineer to join our team @ Linear Labs Inc. This position will be based @ our facility headquarters in Fort Worth, TX. We are seeking a sophisticated and talented professional who can thrive in the dynamic environment of a start-up.

The Electrical Engineer will work with providers to specify and qualify power modules and devices. Work directly with testing agencies for Product Safety Certification. Support manufacturing with bills of materials and production test plans. Seeking candidates cognizant of low-cost, high-quality designs for high volume manufacturing experience.

What You'll Do

- Design and develop Power converters/controllers.
- Model, simulate, analyze sub system to evaluate product and design concepts.
- Create schematic symbols, PCB footprint and layout.
- Testing of new products in accordance with Industry standards and customer requirements.
- Design, component selection and validation of critical power components (e.g., MOSFETs, IGBTs, Diodes, capacitors, inductors, fuses etc.).
- Develop and perform subsystems/product engineering tests during prototype development stage.
- Support testing personals during the product testing.
- Work efficiently with cross-functional team that includes control engineering, mechanical engineering, software and test validation.
- Work with supply chain team and qualify components and assemblies during prototype development and resolve issues as needed to maintain product and project quality, cost and deliverables.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
- Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures, requesting repair service.
- Maintains product data base by writing computer programs, entering data.
- Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

What You'll Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 5+ years’ experience required – High-volume production of rotating components is desirable
- Specific experience within one of the following industries: electric motors, electric drives, enclosed gearing, or oil & gas high-pressure pumps is preferred
- Good knowledge of PCB designs and ECAD tools, preferably Altium.
- Experience with Electrical Simulation tools (PSIM, Ansys.).
- Experience trouble shooting, testing and analyzing circuits using laboratory equipment
- Knowledge in EMC pre-compliance.
- Good knowledge in AC and DC motors.
- Production manufacturing and planning experience preferred
- A self-starter who can manage priorities and make trade-offs when needs change
- Incredibly organized, with superb attention to detail and quality, and a strong ability to execute
- Committed to collaboration and teamwork in the occasionally inharmonious start-up environment
- Legally authorized to work in US
