Stem also offers full support for solar partners interested in adding storage to standalone, community or commercial solar projects – both behind and in front of the meter.

Stem’s culture embodies diversity & inclusion beyond the traditional facets of gender, ethnicity, age, disabilities, and sexual orientation to include experience, personality, communication, workstyles, and more. At our core, Stem is at the momentous intersection of clean energy and software technology where diverse ideas, experiences, and professional skills converge to make the inclusive culture we have today. Together, we are turning old school thoughts about software and energy into progressive, collaborative, and innovative solutions. By joining our team, you will be collaborating with data scientists, energy experts, skilled salespeople, thought-leading executives and more from a range of backgrounds. This intersection of ideas, beliefs, and skills is what makes us unique enough to lead the world’s largest network of digitally connected energy storage systems.

What we are looking for:

As the Director of Product Marketing for CAISO and Wholesale Markets, you will be a fundamental driver of Stem’s ongoing commercial strategy.

You will help lead the commercial team’s efforts to ensure maximum market share in various Front-of-Meter energy storage, solar+storage and other wholesale market segments by developing competitive commercial offerings and solutions. You will be in charge of various aspects of commercial launch including: creating foundational commercial market strategy, developing the economic valuation criteria, working with cross functional stakeholders to address technical and operational requirements, crafting messaging and positioning for effective go-to-market releases. You will collaborate with internal researchers and data scientists, applying your in-depth background and knowledge of battery energy storage solutions, electricity markets and power systems to perform analysis toward the evolution of Stem Inc.’s products and services. You will be comfortable working with multiple business functions within Stem, including Sales, Finance, Legal, Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Business Development, Policy, and Operations. You are a doer and a thinker who seeks out innovative approaches to accelerate market capture and create new opportunities.

Responsibilities:

- Gather and analyze market intelligence including market size and competitive landscape.
- Create, maintain, and run sophisticated pricing and economic models to assess energy storage project economics.
- Work with Finance and Contracts to assess market risk and define key commercial terms.
- Collaborate with Product Management to influence Stem’s product roadmap and align new Front-of-meter product releases with market entry strategies.
- Design and own processes and tools that enable partners and the sales team to evaluate storage projects in current and new markets.
- Work closely with Marketing & Communications to develop collateral and content that articulates the value of Stem’s Front-of-Meter offerings to partners and customers.
- Define the market size and develop go-to-market strategies that maximize Stem’s attainable market share.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis necessary to inform strategic market and product decisions.
- Package Stem’s products and services into comprehensive offerings with standardized solution bundles, pricing, revenue & savings models, contract language, and customer proposal collateral.
- Drive offerings to “full release” by shepherding through a cross-functional development process with Business Development, Product Management, Finance, Operations, and Sales.
- Monitor the competitive landscape and develop strategies to differentiate Stem from our competitors.
- Develop differentiated and compelling messaging and positioning for Stem’s solution offerings.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to develop collateral, content, and sales enablement that articulates the value of Stem’s offerings to partners and customers.
- Partner with sales and product management to demonstrate Stem’s solutions.
- Be an advocate and evangelist by attending conferences, webinars and leveraging your personal brand in social media to promote Stem’s value proposition to customers, partners, and the public.
