The DevOps Manager tackles the organization’s technical challenges at infrastructure and all inbound/outbound connectivity boundaries while continuously driving technical excellence, working with management to support the execution of the organization’s vision.

The ideal candidate will act as the primary interface between the development group and the hosting teams and will focus on improving proactive detection and prevention of incidents impacting the accessibility and availability of the organization’s platforms serving the customer base.

The position will provide additional training focusing on improving managerial skills. It will have requirements of completion of AE Manager Training, L4M – Leadership for Managers, New Manager Fundamentals, Managing Remote Employees, Developing Optimum Employee Performance, and ongoing HR mentorship.

Responsibilities:
- Displays technical leadership and oversight of implementation and deployment planning, system integration, infrastructure automation, 24x7x365 operations, and sustainability of technical solutions
- Thorough understanding of DevSecOps concepts and culture, with a focus on leveraging software engineering tools, methodologies, and concepts.
- Evaluates technological choices (network/hardware related and technology/code related) by querying providers and providing evaluations of each solution, including ROI evaluations in the present and future implications, limitations, and opportunities
- Work with software developers and platform architects on software and system optimizations, helping to identify and remove potential performance bottlenecks and improve release automation and orchestration (CI/CD)
- Collaborate with front-end and big-data development teams on user-facing features, services, and data-driven experiences
- Maintains issue tracking and documentation systems and provides reporting that ensures proper tracking and visibility of issues and projects
- Resolve conflicts by demonstrating leadership and appropriate decision-making competencies
- Is responsible for complex technical management coordination with multiple vendors and staff
- Is responsible for the development of standards and processes for operations that proactively prevent problems from occurring
- Create, update standard operating procedures (SOP) and, provide documentation and share knowledge with OnShore/OffShore teammates
- Ability to lead diverse cultural teams with a customer-focused approach and a track record of proactive engagement

Qualifications:
- Ability to drive to high-level goals and milestones.
- 4-5 plus years of DevOps Manager or related experience with increasing responsibilities and understanding of DevSecOps, Infrastructure automation, and CI-CD delivery
- Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar IaC toolsets.
- Experience with container runtime platforms like Kubernetes, ECS, OpenShift, or similar is strongly preferred.
- In-depth understanding of cloud-based networking, VPCs, gateways, etc.
- Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or similar.
- Experience with AWS services, including ECS/Fargate, Kinesis, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, CodeBuild, S3, Route 53, API Gateway, etc.
- Experience with containerization theory, methods, and tools like Docker, Buildah, etc.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment tools, GitHub actions, GitLab, Jenkins, CircleCI, ArgoCD, Octopus, etc.
- Experience with application monitoring, log analysis, observability, monitoring, and alerting platforms like PagerDuty, DataDog, Grafana, Fluentbit, OpenSearch, etc.

Work Environment:
- Office Setting, primarily in cubicles
- Moderate to high noise levels (i.e. business office with computers, phone, printers, moderate traffic)
- Ability to sit or stand (standing desk provide upon request) at a computer terminal for an extended period

Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate (talk/sign/type/write) and operate a computer, telephone (or alternative), keyboard (or typing device), etc.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
