JOB CATEGORY

Gridware is on a mission to create a future without deadly wildfires. We’re a startup building hardware and software that monitors the power grid to prevent and detect faults that lead to wildfire ignition. (More about Gridware below).

To make that happen, we’re currently looking for a Data Analyst to help us identify, analyze, and interpret trends from the data collected by our fleet of devices.

WHY do we need you?

We’re at an exciting point where we have deployed our first fleets of power grid monitoring devices to customers. As an early team member, you will have the opportunity to join our cutting-edge operational center monitoring the US power-grid and acting as the first line of defense for detecting power line faults that might lead to wildfires. The operational center's main objectives include monitoring the fleet of devices deployed in the field, ensuring fleet reliability, and escalating critical events for rapid response.

Responsibilities
This is what you’ll be doing:
- Monitor real-time data streams from the fleet and document anomalies or issues.
- Investigate and analyze real-time data streams for potential alerts/faults, following the established processes to triage and escalate critical events.
- Create real-time and daily reports for different alerts/faults observed

Requirements:
- A passion for working in a fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to perform duties without supervision
- Basic understanding of data analytics and anomaly detection
- Needs to be able to come into our Walnut Creek office (right next to a BART Station) for every shift. Please note that this job can NOT be performed remotely. We have night and evening shifts available.

Salary
$25 / h
(We're looking for a commitment for at least 7h / week)

Application

Although we do not require candidates to submit a cover letter, candidates who wish to have their application stand out are invited to write a cover letter outlining one or all of the following things in bullet-point format:
- Why you are interested in joining Gridware
- What skills make you the perfect candidate for this role
