Q CELLS Enable is the EPC arm of Qcells serving the C&I market. Our mission is to provide world class design and installation of large-scale PV and ESS systems throughout the US. Our position as a leading module manufacturer means we can offer end-to-end solutions for project developers and asset managers. We are expanding our offerings and have several open positions currently in our NYC headquarters. 

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sr. Civil Engineer will lead site development engineering and due diligence for PV and BESS power plants. The Sr. Civil Engineer will work with internal design team and external consultants to navigate projects from site plan approval through final project closeout.
 
This position reports to the Sr. Engineering Manager. The office is in Midtown and the role will be a hybrid position with 60% of time in the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead initial due diligence efforts for early stage development engineering.
- Review approved civil site plans and SWPPP documents for previously developed projects to identify potential challenges for constructability.
- Manage external consultants and engineers as required to produce permitting and construction level plans.
- Review all owner furnished information for consistency and completeness. Ensure all approved site plan documentation complies with local, state, and national codes and regulations.
- Develop detailed scope of work and specification documents for all civil and structural aspects of ground mounted and carport systems.
- Value engineer previously developed site to optimize grading, constructibility, and system performance.
- Perform cost estimation for civil construction and develop civil cost calculator.
- Perform site visits and inspections to verify existing conditions and compliance with engineered plans.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Civil Engineering degree.
- 5 years of experience in civil site design or related field.
- Strong knowledge of civil and storm water design as it pertains to ground mounted solar systems.
- Experience with wetlands delineation, construction setback requirements, and variances for construction in wetlands.
- Strong understanding of civil construction best practices and methodology.
- Experience with hydrology and storm drainage modeling programs.
- Experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Organized, detail-oriented, with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Experience estimating civil construction costs and familiarity with reviewing and leveling quotes from subcontractors.
- Excellent ability to communicate among construction, technical and non-technical personnel, both internally and outside the company.
- Comfortable working iN a fast-moving, dynamic environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- PE License.
- Experience with managing large site development projects.
- Experience reviewing construction contracts and terms and conditions.
