What we are looking for:

Stem Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain team is seeking a motivated, experienced and result oriented Category Manager to co-manage and implement sourcing for Energy Storage System and subcomponents alongside with current SC director. This role will be working closely with sales, product marketing and deployment teams to support Pre-bid proposals and other related SC activities, and ensure their needs are managed and the aligned targets are achieved.

Responsibilities:
- Co-manage and execute sourcing plan for Energy Storage Hardware category including maintaining relationships with strategic suppliers and developing new suppliers as needed to support business growth
- Provide category expertise, understand supply market and its upstream supply chain that impacts Energy Storage landscape.
- Conduct competitive RFP bids, drive final supplier selections, leverage cost model analysis to drive commercial negotiation and complete Storage Hardware and long-term services agreements
- Develop strong and effective internal relationships with all levels of the business to ensure that supplier contracts reflect business requirements
- Understand US policy and compliance requirements that could impact supply in Energy Storage and support the mitigation strategies to minimize impact
- Drive commercial cost reductions and support new project bids from supply chain perspective
- Measure and monitor supplier performances including quarterly business review with strategic suppliers to ensure they consistently meet or exceed business expectations
- Work with Accounting Team to support invoice payment reconciliation and approval
- Have business mindset to challenge existing processes and suggest new way to optimize these processes and improve procurement efficiency
- Carry out other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- Good understanding of renewable energy and energy storage businesses
- 10+ years’ experience in Strategic Sourcing and Category Management
- 5+ years of relevant commercial negotiations and contracting experience for battery technology in supply chain function or business development function
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with senior management.
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed
- Working knowledge of NetSuite, or Coupa, Ariba E Procurement Tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or Engineering
- Preferred MBA or Masters

Job Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid) or Remote in the US
