Summary of Role
A Business Development Director will be regional and be responsible for generating sales and growth within their region. Focus areas will be around partner production, new accounts, partner churn, and sales member experience/support. Successfully focusing on those areas will ensure a highly productive region. Each region will work towards state-level and company sales goals.
The successful candidate will be resourceful, a leader, proactive, organized, and motivated to increase sales, enhance the company's reputation, and look for new and creative revenue opportunities.
Strategic & Tactical
- Conducting market research and knowing Total Addressable Market for each state in the region
- Develop strategic growth plans around regions specific TAM
- Ability to manage a regional budget
- Cultivating strong relationships with Partners with the assistance of in-state Business Development Managers
- Work with marketing on lead generation and funnel flow
- Working closely with staff across departments to implement growth strategies
- Developing and implementing sales strategies, client service, and retention plans
- Analyzing sales data to inform or update marketing strategies
- Assist with drafting business plans, sales pitches, presentations, reference material, and other documents as required
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet company sales goals
- Identify new business opportunities and partners
- Identify and escalate major blockers from preventing sales growth
- Collating and maintaining prospect information in the CRM database
- Know all current sales opportunities Palmetto is offering
- Sales member NPS tracking
- Anticipate and manage potential roadblocks
- Attend conferences throughout the year to develop new business opportunities
Qualifications
- 5+ years managing business development teams
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Friendly and personable demeanor
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software
