Associate Account Executive (Remote)

The Energy Industry is being disrupted by a number of new technologies like EVs, Solar, Batteries, Smart Meters, and Smart Home devices. Consumers are becoming self-sufficient with their own energy production and storage threatening a century old utility business model. Additionally, the grid was not designed for the peaks created by EVs and the valleys created by the solar generation which has created new challenges and opportunities for the utilities (and innovative companies) to manage an evolving grid.

The Position and the Team You’ll Work With

As aAssociate Account Executive, you will support all sales and business development activities for a specific territory. You will work closely with the Account Executive to develop and maintain long-term relationships with key decision makers including at the “CXO” level. You will be responsible for implementing a structured account management plan aimed at expanding our footprint at existing clients through upselling and cross-selling.

Under the supervision of the Account Executive and in coordination with the Inside Sales, Delivery and Marketing teams, your focus is to learn and support all activities related to the selling of Bidgely’s Enterprise SaaS platform. You will play a key role in developing new business by managing key utility accounts to rapidly grow the company. Through a consultative sales process, you will work closely with the Account Executive to educate, influence and ultimately create the business justification to expand our footprint in the following key areas 1) Grid Modernization 2) Electrification with a focus on Electric Vehicles 3) Decarbonization 4) Demand Side Management.

What You Will Bring

  • At least 1-2 years utility experience working with/for electric, gas and/or water utilities in North America.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with desire to learn the consultative selling process.  
  • Strong desire to work in a dynamic fast-paced work environment and to develop understanding and influence over the utility buying process.

As a Junior Account Executive You Will

  • Work with Account Executive to expand business by delivering new bookings and revenue from existing Bidgely utility clients in North America. Carry a quota and create quarterly forecasts including committed deals as well as pipeline for the current quarter and beyond.
  • Work with Account Executive to build a solid pipeline of upsell and cross-sell opportunities to ensure successful achievement of annual bookings and revenue targets.
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key stakeholders (Program Management, IT, Exec Sponsor, etc.) with existing accounts.
  • Responsible for keeping current clients satisfied and delivering exceptional client service on a day-to-day basis.  
  • Responsible for the documentation of project metrics and alignment to value for each client.
  • Responsible for liaising with Customer Success Management team to ensure delivery is on track, reporting any concerns throughout the management team, and seeking opportunities to expand BIdgely’s offerings within existing accounts.
  • Work with the Account Executive & Regulatory Director to maintain an understanding of the regulatory environment and the opportunity and risk it creates. Keeping up on trends, changes, and competitor actions that might affect their client.
  • Plan and facilitate meetings between Bidgely’s executive team, the client’s business executives, technology and procurement teams to align all parties around the engagement. 
  • Schedule strategic meetings with clients, partners, and thought-leaders to understand global and regional regulatory and industry specific issues that impact our accounts.
  • Support Account Executive throughout the sales cycle to learn and develop sales skills.
