Position Overview
You will join a collegial team of 10 legal professionals and report to the Director of Contracts. This is a multifaceted position and allows the individual to grow and excel in supporting different aspects of the organization. The ability to handle a fluctuating workload is important for success in this position. Our Legal Department is expected to grow rapidly over the next few years and there will be exciting opportunities for career growth. You will provide contract management/legal operation support to the legal team and the company. This position is in Irvine, California and working hours are Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the review, editing, and redlining of a variety of legal documents including NDAs, Change Orders, Amendments, POs, Statements of Work (SOW), Professional Services Agreements, and other documents as assigned; collaborate closely with the Director of Contracts and/or attorneys to ensure accuracy and compliance with established guidelines.
  • Facilitate the execution and compilation of contracts by working closely with in-house counsels, such as inserting e-signatures from authorized signatories as needed and meticulously managing document files.
  • Take an active role in maintaining corporate books and records, including foreign/annual filings and renewals; draft and revise critical corporate organizational and board documents such as bylaws, resolutions, and minutes; contribute to the setup of new organizational entities when required.
  • Act as a cross-functional intermediary with teams such as Sales, Corporate Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Engineering to ensure accurate lien management; responsible for filing preliminary notices and coordinating lien waivers.
  • Efficiently manage, file, update, and maintain a comprehensive range of legal agreements, documents, and records; maintain meticulous records tracking for legal purposes.
  • Lead the vendor selection process for a Contract Management/Lifecycle System (CMS); implement, manage, and maintain the system while optimizing contract workflow and enhancing overall efficiency.
  • Collaborate extensively with various teams, bringing legal expertise to cross-functional projects and initiatives; provide support on a variety of duties and special projects as necessary.
  • Respond to inquiries in the legal shared inboxes, demonstrating proficiency in legal matters; provide invaluable backup support to team members as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of 5 years of experience or equivalent in in-house legal department or law firm experience.
  • Experience with solar industry is a plus, especially with compiling and maintaining wide variety of agreements.
  • Computer and tech savvy. Advance level in MS Office Suite, G-Suite, and Adobe Pro (pdf), Docusign or Adobe Sign.
  • Enjoy learning using new software or any type of computer system.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Agile and effective communicator with clear oral and written explanations.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple and simultaneous projects, issues, and activities.
  • Proactive and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Confidence and ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization
  • Dependable and trustworthy with positive attitude
  • CA Notary public or willing to become one.
